Pulmonary Function Testing (Spirometry)

Pulmonary Fuction Tests (also called Spirometry) measures the volume of air inhaled or exhaled over a period of time. The test can be used to measure deep inspiration or expirations to provide information about vital capacity. Also measured is forced expiration rates and volumes. This information is useful because it helps the medical provider (nurse practitioner or physician) determine the patient's ability to use equipment such as negative pressure respirators.

Pulmonary Function Test (Spirometry)
This is a test of the patient's lung function and lung capacity. It's a great test for determining how well an employee may work in environments where smoke, fumes and other irritants may be present. The baseline test can also be compared to an exit test.
